I have been asking a similar question -- how does one implement "best practices?" My company is trying to leverage large investments in Quality (process-oriented knowledge) by sharing best practices across the numerous subsidiaries. I frequently run into situations where two different subsidiaries are trying to tackle the same process/problem (e.g. customer service response time). We are trying to promote sharing of problems and solutions across the company, but are having difficulty making it happen. Not sure why yet. Anecdotal evidence is all over the place. I saw an article somewhere (should have saved it) that described compensation schemes to encourage people to add knowledge to a knowledge repository and to utilize knowledge from repository. Authors were paid for submitting the knowledge and for each "hit." I can't remember how users of the repository were compensated (beyond being able to do a better job). Any thoughts.
