I'm going to have to disagree with you on your process. It has been my experience that in a group setting people tend to overstate thier sources of information, and often forget to mention obscure sources.
I would first conduct face to face information audits in a private setting, with each member of the group. Go back and tabulate these results, create an "ideal" from all the respondents.
At this point I would conduct a group meeting similar in scope and setting that you had described.
