thank you very much for your links. I found them helpfull.
I also think it takes much more than some piece of software (ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology) to map the knowlegde within an organisation. Especially when we're talking about human, or tacit, knowlegde. But I think a tool can visualize the results of research of where which knowlegde is concentrated within the organisation. In this sence knowlegde mapping should be a starting point from where organisations can take actions in Knowlegde Management. The way how I see it is that organisations tend to rely on relative simple and badly investigated measurements to manage their knowlegde. One example is putting a lot of (maybe unnecessary) effort and resources in intranets and this sort of "KM-actions". But this is why I'm interested in what way a tool can support mapping an organisation's knowledge.
