In response: I know of a major, national non-profit organization
that has done just that--the American Cancer Society HQ'd in Atlanta.
I do not know if you are concentrating on for=profits or if a NPO could
be considered. They have wonderful internet, intranet, and proprietary systems
that have done just what you asked. They have combined and then created
new--synergistically. They are much better run than most for-profit corps.
