I am surprised that you didn't spark more comments with this question, Suzzie! There are those folks who beleive that effective KM could not truly exist without a robust technological infrastructure. These are the same people who beleive that the concepts of continuous improvement and resiliency to change are new ideas instead of just new ways to talk about old concepts.
There is little doubt in my mind that having a LAN or WAN or an application that promotes easy sharing and access helps facilitate KM -- but it is my contention that good knowledge management is actually part and parcel of plain, vanilla common-sense open management that has everything to do with the culture you create and the way your people interact with each other and with the customer.
