Hello.
You may also check out Trompenaars and Hampden-Turners "Riding the Waves of Culture", and Geert Hofstede's work in the same area. They use 7 and 6 dimensions for mapping cultures and opposing values, and afterwards try to reconcile the differences by coming up with an innovation, a new solution, based on the seemingly opposing values.
