Reilly,
Everything you just said reinforce the thoughts previously provided. Knowledge does not always generate success, but knowledgeable people are more often than not, more prone to succeed, especially if they apply sound judgment and objective reasoning to the knowledge gained.
I have been in conflict. All the knowledge in the world won’t stop a well aimed round, but knowledge that the threat would shoot at us at certain locations enabled us to make sound decisions. We would either go a different route or eliminate the threat.
It is my impression (reinforced and shaped by people like you) that knowledge can be an extremely powerful weapon/tool, but only if people use that knowledge wisely. The usefulness of knowledge can be measured by the environment in which it is used. Most often knowledge flourishes and is extremely useful in an environment built on a foundation of trust, but in conflict management the environment is usually riddled by deceit and the lack of trust. Even in a chaotic environment knowledge can be extremely useful if harnessed…just ask any successful leader (military, political corporate, educational, etc.,).
I really do cherish the exchange of thoughts, especially when such a knowledgeable person like you generates them. Respectfully, Vaughn.
