You clearly perceive an invitation to another forum to be "competition for attention" and selling". I believe others may perceive your references to your own papers in much the same light. I don't wish to belabor the point but my post did give some indictation of what the site contained and you have the communities confused.
Trust is built on reciprocity, I never fail to give credit or to point members at other communities to the ThinkTank, from my perspective the choice lies with the reader.
I agree a qualified link has added value, however the concept of linking by label is well established and hardly an attenion grabber.
Identity as you suggest, is indeed closely tied to the quality and consistency of a persons posts. I wonder if a person who had confidence would worry about these small things?. It helps to put this 'dialog' into perspective, we are well away from the center stage, only visible to the 'hard core' who do a 'find by date' search. I'm sorry to hear so many of the members take umbrage to my cross-linking to other forums, I percieve this as a service not a burden. They are welcome to protest to me via e-mail if they feel strongly. So far I have not hear even a whisper.
