Thank you for reaching out, I'll try not to get circular again but no promises. Suppose knowledge equates with morality at the top of Maslow's hierarchy. According to J. Bronowski, the greatest human achievement is suspension of judgement. R. Girard uses the deferral of violence as an essential part of generative anthropology.
In knowledge alone, for cultures to maintain their identity, it appears necessary to have super-spirited scapegoats like Jesus, Joan of Arc, Ghandi or Nelson Mandela. Perhaps if we want an equation, I would say suspension and deferral are measures for loyalty that is not traded for honesty but mediates honesty to the right place and right time in history.
