The article is about support people, not harvesting their knowledge.
The line below the title says: "...you'll have to build systems that support knowledge -- not data." However, the article doesn't support that statement.
The article uses the phrase "knowledge in people".
The article is about professional people, how they socialize and form informal relations that enrich and enliven their understanding, their personal lives and their careers all at the same time.
"Communities of practice" create dynamic, agile knowledge that adapts and adjusts. It's has a flexible informality that resists being managed. If you can't manage it, you can at least feed it nurtients at the root -- grassroots, which is at the heart of the article.
Journalistically, the achieves of purpose of being both sounding provocative, yet offering sound advice.
