Hi John

The similarity between BPR and this technique is the fact that it is structured. Structured does not mean 100% sequential though, but relational in this case.

The difference between BPR and this technique is its departure point. This technique maintains that business processes are a derivement of function and data, as opposed to being a determinent in itself. Reverese engineering options exist though, but people don't have the brainpower to complete such a job accurately in a very short period of time, which is what customers want.
