I have to say that it seems I have posted this one to the wrong discussion. And out of context my posting makes very little sense at all.
I do agree with Robert on a number of points, what I was talking about interms of inefficiency is purposefully denying students of any kind access to a body of knowledge that you hold in order for them to learn their own way of doing things. As they have other considerations on top of this thier way will never be as efficient as one that results from a disection of a working model of process framework. By doing this as mentors or keepers of information based power we are only acting in such a way propagate our superiority by having a more developed framework (in essence to allow other people to prove us right). The excellent student will come up with a new way (out of his own devices ) but in the culture which s/he has learned it will make them both reluctant to share this and have to further invent mechanisms for sharing information this effectivley. It is my belief that we must give people an effective way to communicate their ideas so they night grow through this. I have to admit that redaing my statements I do come over as being an over caring parental figure. I am looking at it from a perspective of learning through being a mentor and letting people have learning experiences in safe environments.Hope I've cleared some things up , but please feel free to blow holes in my argument as its friday afternoon I've had a few at lunch and not quite on the ball at the moment.
Regards
Andy
