I think that you are right in that it is the teachers responsibility to provide a pathway to assimilating the course material. I disagree with the blank page premise entirely it is academic approach that results in high stress being placed on a student and results in an over self indulgent approach to learning by teaching outside of an open knowledge sharing leanrning envrionment we are dissassociating the student from the collaborative aspect that will allow the flow of knowledge to continue after the course has finished. It also promotes inefficiency as all students must discover their own ways of doing things instead and constantly reinvent the wheel as it where.
