I am currently at the last year of my MSc in Information
and Knowledge Management. I remember the first
words of my supervisor when I joined on this course...
' There are no jobs in the newspaper for you....you have
to go and create your jobs...'
That sounded very strange...organisations need people
with my qualifications but they do not ask for them????
I now understand that organisations just started to look at knowledge
as a resource and are now looking for ways to manage this knowledge.
Knowledge Based Systems, Knowledge Analysis, Knowledge Planning,
Organisational Behaviour, methods for Knowledge Acquisition, learning how
to understand tacit and explicit knowledge, knowing ways
of distributing knowledge, storing, developing new
knowledge and combining knowledge in your organisation
are all important in order to succed as a knowledge manager.

Well I'll let you know the results of my thesis
when I am done with it!
:-)
Leonora
