Thank you for your reply. I agree with what you are saying, as it all forms part of the truth of strategies.

I think the real challenge of strategy is how to continually update it as the multiple variables change. The more complex the variable set, the more the maintenance, and less likely the reliability of such a strategy.

A strategy may be a set of high-level plans, but at best it can only be a snapshot of the way forward. Now onto a KM strategy. Should a KM strategy be resourced and developed in the same manner as any other organizational strategy?

My thought on this is that to some degree it should, but there should be a differentiating dimension. I tend to believe that if KM cannot be somewhat different, offering different benefits, it may not be able to address organizations in a different manner, creating an environment which would increase the chance of an organizational, event horizon occurring.

Do you know of a source where one could look at sample or case KM strategies?
