Robert -- Your notion of KM as the subtle shadow cast by the stealth employee is, I think, right on target. That is, you have described the approach used by countless successful managers over the course of many years.
As I've said many times in this forum, much of KM is, among other things, simply a repackaging of past thoughts, techniques and managment styles. So, in my opinion, you are describing PM, people management, which is far more important and encompassing than KM as generally described here. You notions will invariably lead to success, as demonstrated by a great richness of empirical data and experience. Thank you, thank you, and thank you for writing sense.
Regards,
Reilly
