SEID 2000: Special Session on Knowledge Management and Workflow

Papers are invited that include original work on distributed systems using knowledge management and workflow. We aim to attract interesting work on theoretical aspects of these topics, and also from industrial applications. Submissions are invited on relevant topics, including but not restricted to:

* Applications of artificial intelligence to acquiring knowledge
through e.g., machine learning, data-mining and knowledge discovery
in databases.
* Knowledge acquisition, modeling, and management over the internet
* Intelligent-agent based approaches to workflow and knowledge
management.
* Tools and languages for knowledge acquisition, modeling, and
management
* Business process re-engineering (BPR)

Papers will be selected based on the originality and quality of the work, and their relevance to the topics listed above.

The preferred method of submission is by email (mcgl-ci0@paisley.ac.uk), in postscript, Adobe pdf or MS Word format. The format of the papers should conform to the guidelines given in the SEID CFP, which is attached below.

Paper submission deadline: 15th of May
Notification of acceptance of papers: 1st of July
Camera ready papers: 15th of July
Symposium celebration: : 25th to 27th of September

SEID 2000: 1st call for papers

SEID 2000, panish Symposium on Distributed Computing

The Spanish Symposium on Distributed Computing (SEID'2000) will take place in September 2000. This symposium aims to pick up the line of the congress that took place in Santiago de Compostela (SEID'99). We intend to bring together researchers and develope rs from industry and academic world to report on the latest scientific and technical advances, discuss and debate the major issues, and showcase the latest systems.

Technical issues to be addressed include, but are not restricted to:

Internet applications
Electronic commerce
Multiagent systems
Distributed databases
Distributed software engineering
Distributed artificial intelligence
Distributed multimedia
Computer networks
Distributed real-time systems
Applications of distributed computing: commerce, medicine, education, industry, ...
Distributed operating systems, ...


====> Papers submission

Submitted papers must be in English or Spanish and should not have been published elsewhere or being currently under consideration elsewhere. Presently we are negotiating with several journals the possibility of producing several special issues with the best papers from the symposium. At least one of the authors of the paper must register in the symposium no later than the 15th of July 2000 so the paper may be included in the proceedings.

The submission of papers must follow the following format:
They must be written in English or Spanish, up to 15 pages, 12 points Times font, double-spaced, A4 (210 x 297 millimetres) paper, including name, affiliation and address of the author/s, figures and references. Papers should also include keywords and an abstract of no more than 200 words.

The format for the camera-ready copy will be indicated together with the acceptance letter. Electronic submission, in ghostview-readable Postscript, MS-Word, or PDF, is the preferred method. The e-mail should include paper title and author names and must be sent to SEID2000@ei.uvigo.es.
