Hello
You could always try the carrot and stick approach - If you don't eat the carrot you get hit with the stick or if you don't beat up on people with the stick then you have to eat your carrots.
Most people I know appreciate money and recognition, usually in that order. It really depends on what you like, in one company I used to work for they used to send me to interesting places (they told me it was for the work I did - not sure now if that was a good thing or not, first prize a weekend in Atlantic City, second prize a week in Atlantic City etc.)
Whatever you give make sure it's worth giving, even a company t-shirt is appreciated if it's well designed and well made.
