Jack,
First of all, my congratulations for locating the KM Characterization Framework Paper where you did. I had forgotten I had even stuck it out there. I guess I'm starting to lose as many things on my virtual desk as I do on my physical one. That paper actually has been published/presented several times and is now starting to draw a bit of attention.
The GKM is the overarching model for a series of models I have been working on over the last 10 years or so. The others are, the General Knowledge Development Model (GKDM), the General Knowledge Retention Model (GKRM), the General Knowledge Transfer Model (GKTM), and Knowledge Utilization. Not all of these have been written up for release.
Parts of the GKM, the Characterization Framework, and a bit of my brand of knowledge flow analysis are now being taught as part of the Knowledge Management theory course at George Washington Univ., in Washington DC. co-authored by Dr. Art Murray and myself.
The next time I am scheduled to present/teach the Characterization Framework will be at the SALT Education Technology Conference in Arlington, Virginia in late July. I will be presenting a 1/2 day tutorial on the 23ed the Characterization Framework and will be using the GKM to introduce the basic terms and concepts.
What else would you like to know about them?
