Gosh, I seem to have upset a few people here, and I think there may be some misunderstanding. It's interesting, for the message I sent to the forum was perhaps, and this is my fault I agree, without proper context. The problem of inappropriate knowledge elcitation was not of my own making, in fact it was the client who in their 'requirements' asked for this to be done for fear of upsetting the existing culture! "Find out what they know, but don't ask them overtly". I was just as horrified as everyone else, but wondered what the state of thinking was on this. Maybe others have experienced this, maybe they have dealt with it in some way that could be useful, I don't know, but it's an interesting problem, and one not meant to foster some kind of infringement from a professional point of view.
