Jane and Denham,
apart from not being able to see where you get your perspective from, and apart from the functionalistic flavor it carryies, you are in to more right then I believe you actually realise.
But there is one fundamental thing bugging me. Who ever said, wrote, showed AND proofed that there is a problem with the willingness of sharing personal information with other people?.
Personally I have done a huge amount of casestudyies, mainly in the software developement industry, and I have never encountered organisations where people where not ready to share everything they know with everybody.
I simply dont understand where this convention came from, and I do not support it.
As I see it the problems of "knowledge" sharing, as many people like to call it, is of a completely different character.
