Hello Richard
Good to hear from you.
To question all my basic assumptions would take me a long time, to identify changes even longer, and then to revisit those changed basic assumptions and question and change them, longer still.
Not to say that I don't do it. It's just easier at times to go with the basic assumptions we know still work and just question the asumptions that seem to result in dead ends or other unexpected outcomes.
A reply which is unfortunately rather like one of Vinnies (Steve Martin) replies in the motion picture My Blue Heaven.
As for innovation, I really don't think that it's as smart as it's all cracked up to be - after all, any fool can come up with 1,001 ideas but it takes a smart cookie to take it to market and make it a success. Oh no! there I go again, with my basic assumptions.
Cheers,
Martyn
