Martyn -- Your approach sounds good to me, and certainly fits my notions about IM vs KM; two or one does not make much difference. However, I really can't make any specific judgement about your approach, 'cause I don't know the details -- what's the business case, staff or line oriented or both?, who writes the checks?,what data is involved ? who are the users?, what are their requirements?,how can the data be used and analysed to enhance corporate performance. And, I'm sure that all that stuff is proprietary. I'ld love to know how you develop your system architecture, specifically what do you do to capture growth and change, how do you integrate testing and development, how do you incorporate changing corporate objectives, and on and on...
Such is life.

Your scheme for integrating IM and KM makes good sense. But why not the other way, KM becomes a part of enlightened IM.
Regards
Reilly
