Yes, I do recognise the difficulties. I am holding on because I think the issue is understandable/practical, has side benefits such as risk management, has people benefits such as acknowledgement of value and because it just happened to me (After 25 years of Knowledge worker roles I have been downsized with no acknowledgement or attempt to communicate anything).

It is perhaps another chicken and egg situation. Maybe I should adapt it to employee 'churn' and focus on induction (new values, culture ect) and handover communications.

Laura, the reference for the 'knowledge bounties' is Tale 3, 'The Knowledge Factor' by Perry Glasser in CIO Magazine Dec/Jan '99. I will certainly share and let people know of my next step (web site for 'InfoQ). Bye the way I'm in Melbourne, Australia.
