Here is an interesting collection of case studies from the students at George Masson University. Always difficult to quality where part of the equation is competeitive position, greater innovation, improved agility, increased market awareness. There are subtle lead and lag effects, changing environments and competitors that further complicate ROI numbers.
I happen to believe insisting on hard numbers and projecting ROI is becoming dysfunctional in our knowledge driven economy, where ability to change, set standards, first mover advantages and market intelligence, rather than profit predictions based on very shaky assumptions determine the winners.
Good luck with your venture.
