Here's a question about which I'm most curious. That is
Why is it important to distinguish Knowledge Management from Information Management?
In my mind, except for rather arcane circumstances, there's no knowledge without information, and no information without knowledge.(Let's ignore the complications of data for the moment). The two notions are so tightly coupled that Webster's calls their names synonyms. Why create what seems to me to be such an artificial separation?
Are we talking empire building, hostility to the techie systems folks, or conceptual, or pragmatic, or other reasons?
