Shelley,

There seem to be some difficulties in doing this type of comparison which I tried to highlight. My concerns are what criteria?, how to control for culture and intrinsic motivators and ways to rate the separate technologies for their knowledge sharing component.

How will you separate the ability of these mediums to inform from their ability to share knowledge? Knowledge sharing implies reciprocity, co-evolution of beliefs and values, joint practice and consensus around mental models. None of these are easy to interpret, measure or identify. Still seems the largest problem is making sure you have some way to account for the 'people' side of the process. There can be sharing via the phone, through fax or newsletters, I'm having problems making sure the type, quality and nature of the sharing is the same in each case.

Not an easy subject you have chosen here!
