Knowledge(K)is too intangible and abstract a concept
to share or manage. I agree with Tom Davenport that
we need to segmentize K into more tangible subunits,
such as customer K, product K, process K, etc...
Once segmentized, we can then begin to see the possibility
of sharing and management. Also, we must try to link
K with projects - improvement projects - if we wish to
demonstrate the impact of K shared or managed. Only
when we begin to show impact in our sharing/managing,
people will begin to appreciate K, and will similarly
contribute in the sharing enterprise.
