I have been gone all but intermittently over the last month as UTK has evolved. Mostly, it is because of the impending dealine on my book, but also my company consulting responsibilities. it made no sense to me to try to be only a small part of the discussion when i could not give it the time needed to really understand what Mike and the others were trying to do here. However, I also recognize that there is a great deal of marvelous work here by a significant number of you that should be preserved.
Might I suggest, Mike, that a version of UTK be created that incorporates all of the suggestions and major comments and that it be placed, as Yogesh suggests, in a forum that is designed to allow more concentration on it, while this forum moves on in its informal, meandering way.
I don't make that suggestion lightly--rather, i went back and read every entry that has been presented in each of its parts. there are now, in my mind, too many 'splinters' to really understand what you are trying to do without a recompilation.
Let's do that and give it some beathing room so that the thoughts presented can be digested and understood--and then commented on so that we can increase this important body of knowledge.
I don't know if anyone else agrees with me, but i would like to see a consolidated version upon which i can comment.
best regards to you all
