Daan,
If the term KM is used…who cares…as long as the focus of KM actions and thoughts are generated towards accomplishing common goals…to generate information in a form that provides knowledge needed for people to attain the level of understanding they need to make sound, timely decisions. This would require a focus on actions required to attain "understanding". Knowledge would be an important ingredient, but not the focus.
What if I were to give you a thought process or methodology that would allow those that don't know what they don't know to determine what they really needed? If tools were developed (or already available) to support that process…and IRs required were able to be quickly identified and provided to those that needed them in a form they quickly understood…would you be happy? Would that be KM? Could that be used by any organization…whether it was a service, product or thinking oriented organization? Your thoughts??
