Browsing through the @Brint forum, I realized that it is not certain yet what 'knowledge management' is, and if it is possible at all to 'manage' 'knowledge'.

In order to be(come) a knowledge manager, you have to be a 'knowledge worker' first (also?). A knowledge worker in the sense that you are open to ideas, concepts, models, experiences and practices form areas that you are not familiar with. That you are willing and able to adapt this new and unfamiliar 'knowledge' into your own working life (or just life, why restrict learning to working).

I think that the challenge you are facing is not the transition to knowledge manager, but instead the integration of your knowledge from psychology with the ideas and concepts etc. of knowledge management. And it is likely that psychology has useful components, since knowledge management is also about communication, perception, behaviour, interaction and group processes.

Breakthrough ideas are many times the result of the combining of theories, that no one thought of combining before. The best teams are multidisciplinary.

So if you want to pursue a Business degree because you think it is of interest, do it, but don't think psychology is without value. A knowlege worker never a priori disregards any study as without value.
