I understand what you are trying to say, but I think you are taking a too detailed look at the situation. What I'm intrested in at this point is a general broad loook at IC at not what it is made up in detail.
For example, looking at the current accounting practices, (although I don't know much about accounting), all or at least most organisations publish the same information as na overview of the annual financial records - as found in the first few pages of their annual report.

What I'm interested in at this point is such a description for IC. This may then be further subdivided for indivitual industries.

Does this make any sence.
