Reilly,
I am thrilled about your interest in cultures in organisations.
I would like to recommend a book of one of my swedish colleguess, that is very quickly read an fairly easy to understand.
It is my good friend Mats Alvesson's book on 'Cultural perspectives on organizations' Cambridge university press.
He will explain to you why Cultures in organizations are determining for all activities and that there is a very big difference between organizational and corporate culture.
A very common misunderstanding in studies of cultures in organizations is that cultures are identified with values and norms.
Values and norms are products of cultures, but not the cultures themselves.Read he's book. It is considered one of the most important contributions to the debate in the nineties.
Best regards
Richard
