Richard,
let me tell you a story, about a dream I had a few nights ago. I dreamt I was a butterfly, I felt the pleasant warmth of the sun, shining on my coloured wings. I tasted the bittersweet taste of the nectar I drunk from the flowers. A little tired, 'cause flying around and sipping nectar are hard work for a butterfly, I fell asleep. And as a butterfly I dreamt I was a man.
Now I don't know, if I am a butterfly dreaming I am a man, or a man dreaming I am a butterfly.

So yes, I've heard about phenomenology and hermeneutics. Somethinh about using the senses and telling stories to describe the 'sensations', I thought. The one thing I am sure of, is that I percieve reality. Since all I have is perception, I can never check whether my perception is real.
Is that a problem? Well, I don't percieve it as a problem. Am I "really" typing these words, or is it just a dream? Since I never will be sure, I am indifferent. I will pretend that this is reality, even if I am not absolutely sure. (I don't know about Glasgow, can THAT be reality, I still have my doubts ;-) )
BTW Do you know Hans Vaihinger, he wrote: Der Theory von des Alsob, as a response to Nietsches Also sprach ZarathustraI thought I saw a similarity between Kees's question (Can knowledge be wrong), and Wittgensteins book about whether a sentence can be true.
I tried to show that posing this question would lead us away from a common sense debate about KM.
QED?
Daan
Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards. (something of Kierkegard)
