Not sure I agree here. The literature is so splintered as we really just begin to delve into this area, that the real determinants of how change will occur to create learning organizations, and how KM facilitates that effort are not yet, in my view, clear.
What seems to be coalescing is a view that knowledge as an asset can be structured and managed. However, the acquisition of knowledge is a personal trait and cannot be managed. Creating a learning organization as a value center that supports learning, and fosters preservation of the results of learning and investigation helps to support the asset and encourage the personal.
Not sure that much more is really well-defined at this point.
