Hello Steve,

Apart from the accounting work that can be done with tools such as those available from FEND (www.fend.es) etc. there are many things that one might be able to do, it really depends on which company you are talking to. Although companies have to be approached and some of their requirements addressed on a case by case basis (i.e. because addressing all of a companies requirements would just be too much) here are some ideas:

Does the company have a suggestion scheme? and why?

Does the company innovate? That is, do people think of process improvments, quality improvements etc. and are allowed to do new things?

What do people in the organisation think about the quality of communications? and why?

How does the company (think it does) compete?

What is the vision for the company?

What are the ways it creates strategies to achieve the "vision"?

Annie Brooking also has some good suggestions, which you can read in her book "Corporate Memory", for identifying possible requirements.

Regards,

Martyn R Jones
