Thank you Lauri,
I am afraid though that not many people will be able to understand the message in the book by only looking at this summary.
What one should remenber is, that this book is from 1979.
Sociological work has since then shown, that there is many factors and implications that speaks for the interpretative subjectivist paradigm and equally many that speaks against the functionalist paradigm.
My advice is still to read the book. The figures shown can be interpreted in way too many ways.
