hi,
I think the job of knowledge managers is not to capture/maintain/grow intellectual capital out of nothing. It's important to position the K-leaders into their community(ies) in order to ensure that the group's knowledge in put into the proper CONTEXT for whatever it is they are supposed to do.
KM is supposed to be practical. And in order to avoid knowledge meanderings (IM) this CONTEXT is key to making sure that efforts are focused in correct areas.
