What is the point of getting all riled up over symantics, call it what you want to call it, knowlegde management or even brain in a can, it really doesn't matter. The real issue is the management of all related spheres which fall undeer the general category of what humanity perceives to be knowledge, real or imagined.
Personally, I have a tough time trying to understand why knnowledge needs to be managed in the first place. There is some merit to allowing knowledge to grow wild like bush grass as opposed to culturing it in a hermetically sealed environment. If we consider that the great inventions of the past, present and probably the future stems from the sole loner who confronts darkness very much in the way our ancestors studied dark shadows cast by a flickering flame against the wall of a cave, it puts what we consider to be knowledge in the perspective that is all so different from the mainstream interpretation.
