I think one of the reasons why we haven't seen a complete "Knowledge Company" is because the published leaders haven't found them!
I have come across a handful of companies with less than 150 people who have come close to the "ideal." Yet these are rarely documented ( and don't seem to want to be documented ) perhaps for reasons of "oh, its easy to do it with 150 people, try it with 200,000!!
At present I am documenting the case study for work I did in 1990 - 91 with my father's business and have continued to evolve with since then. It may only be a five person company, but we've created a company which can boast 250,000UKP income per employee in an industry where the average is 110,000UKP!!
Feel free to e-mail me and I will send a copy of the case study when it's complete ( probable mid October ).
Ross ;-)
