Hello

Question: I create an artefact based on something that I wish to express, the mechanism that I use to convey that which I wish to express is art, the medium through which I have used to convey that which I wish to express is visual art i.e. painting using acrylics etc.

Some of the knowledge that I will probably use in expressing what I wish to express are:

Islamic Patterns (art and science)
Color Theory (art and science)
Other Theories of Form, Aesthetics etc.
Cultural Background Knowledge
Environmental Knowledge etc. etc. etc.

I combine knowledge with expression to arguably create art - I have used knowledge, managed my knowledge to select what I need, discount what I don't, to produce what I want.

Apropos, nearly all the knowledge I used when producing this artefact was knowledge acquired prior to starting to produce that new artefact.

When creating the future it is almost impossible to do so without the influence of the baggage of the past - even if the current event combined with past knowledge produces a strong and innovative reaction.

Best regards

Martyn R Jones
