Hi Denise,

personally I would like to see a conference focusing on the differences and similarities of the two components of ICT:
I - Information; connecting data and information
C - Communication; connecting people
T - Technology

If you look at the article "What's your strategy for manging knowledge" in the Harvard Business Review of May/April 1999 you might find some similarities:

Codification Strategy: turning tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge (IMHO this is exactly the same as information; see other discussion thread). Focus on connecting objects (information). IcT approach.

Personification Theory: using technology to connect people; distributing knowledge by communication of information (as knowledge itself can not be shared directly (see same discussion thread mentioned above). Focus on connecting subjects. iCT approach.

As I believe the emphasis has been mainly on IT, a conference balancing attention on IT and CT might provide valuable insights in effective use of technology for KM purposes.

I hope this might help. Please keep me posted on the conference.
