Hello

Iīm a great believer in the old sayingĻ"donīt applaud it only encourages them" but there comes a time ...

I have been accused of being very negative about some of these groups from their very inception - which isnīt that long ago. What they donīt seem to realize is that their attitude isnīt almost counter-intuitive in terms of the search for ways of using knowledge to improve understanding and ways of doing things etc. Their inability to support disagreement with their style, position or activities (from authoritarianism to covert reuse of other peoples ideas and intellectual property) doesnīt help to reinforce the idea that they are truly interested in Knowledge Management as a learning, shaping and sharing exercise (amongst a host of other things of course). Although there isnīt anything wrong in jumping on the band wagon, I donīt see how one can lead an iniciative like Knowledge Management from the passengers seat whilst wearing blinkers and ignoring the rest of the road users (participants) some of which have been working in this area a lot longer than some people have been dabbling in it.

Best regards,

Martyn R Jones
