Hello Sue Ann

We were in similar position two years ago and di our best to resist the challenge of providing quick wins as they tend to be associated with individual and un-coordinated objectives. They also seem to give people to impression that they have achieved the KM goal when there's a Yellow Pages in place. All that's really happening is explicit knowledge [ i.e. information ] that's available in various telephone directories is being made available on the intranet. It does nothing to change the way that KM is embedded in the value adding adding activities of our business processes i.e. acquisition, interpretation, reflection & exploitation.

I'm not saying don't do it bacause a few quick wins will buy you time and resources but beware of those sponsors running away from the party when they've got they're own prize !!
