You raise a valid point Martyn. I still think the basis for pragmatic solutions should be the vision of KM, the convergent boundaries and multiple sciences integrating into one confusing whole.

KM explorers, such as ourselves, should probably have the ability to maintain the vision and apply the reality in a pragamtic sense. Either one on its own won't deliver close to the real value KM offers, and business is expecting. The left and right lobes in unison, parallelly processing and switching mindsets according to dynamic requirements. We all do it to some degree or the other, but do we do it purposely, as a skill?

Most business knowledge can be bought off the shelf, resident in books and imbedded in applications. What does business really require to help maintain the edge?
