I feel that the reason why HRD suffers is because of the plethora of buzz words. Now,I really would like to have a crystal clear line of demarcation between these buzzwords. I do not think this exists. As far as I can see one thing is clear, that in each era of development, the manner in which organizations compete and survive change rapidly. And this is true for this era. The learning organisation depends on the intellectual proficiences of its people. The degree to which they can adapt to and initiate changes. HR personne; must realise only this simple fact and then concentrate on developing a workable solution for creating and upgrading the intelligence and creative force of their organization. This is the most challenging part. The how? There may be some broad steps, but each organization in its unique form has to examine its need and then progress.
for eg.
A consultancy vs a manufacturing firmA management consultancy vs an IT consultancy .
Buzzwords are required to popularise a felt need, but one word per need should be strong enough and less confusing. The less we occupy ourselves with words, the better for the HR profession and its credibility.
