The Montague Institute web site has provided a brief synopsis of the various methods of measuring intellectual capital, what they have called 12 Techniques Used to Value Intangible Assets. These twelve techniques include:
- Relative value
- Balanced scorecard
- Competency models
- Subsystem performance
- Benchmarking
- Business worth
- Business process auditing
- "Knowledge bank"
- Brand equity valuation
- "Calculated intangible value."
- Microlending.
- "Colorized" reporting.
Brief descriptions of these methods may be seen by clicking on: Measuring Intellectual Capital.
We invite our forum participants who have utilized/implemented any of these techniques to elaborate on their experiences. If you are familiar with other techniques, we also welcome you to share your experience.
