I think one of the better examples of sharing knowledge is illustrated in the book 'Semco' - how Robert Sempler? created a company based on democratic principles, which in turn led to an extremely productive knowledge sharing environment. In short, all aspects of Semco's operations were made available to all employees, financial etc. Perhaps this practical example is the basis of successful knowledge transfer, exchange, call it what you will.
