I was interested in your idea of making Knowledge sharing
part of everybody's daily tasks - but how do you propose to
do that?I am currently reading Davenport and Prusak's book and was
interested to hear of the US Army's 'After Action Review' -
where both officers and enlisted men are 'debriefed' after
every mission in an informal setting to discuss what should
have happened and how any straying could have been avoided. What are your thoughts on the feasability of doing that on a company
wide scale? I believe that in an informal setting, this could
easily encourage the right sort of K-sharing behaviour that
you are talking of. Debriefing the project managers, and employees after
project termination, - as well as contractors who work for your company would be an ideal way to
encourage knowledge sharing and also would aid in the creation of a proper
knowledge base consisting of 'value-added' lessons learned.the only downside I see is to be careful that the atmosphere of the
debrief has to be carefully balanced lest the interviewing team become
known as your company's version of the Spanish Inquisition....Boris
