Here is a very recent Information Week article on the activities and some tools for what they define as Knowledge Management. Their depiction of the various KM activities in terms of: knowledge gathering, organizing, refining, and distributing seem interesting from the IS viewpoint. However, their thinking on the strategic (competence) aspects and behavioral aspects seems a bit flaky.
